Cherokee Social Stuns in Latest Single “Rain Man”

Today, 01/20/2025 up and coming Denver-based indie band Cherokee Social released their single “Rain Man” Comprised of frontman Julian Navarro and guitarist Alex Creighton- the duo paired together to create the future of indie pop.
Navarro has a lengthy history with music, having been singing as long as he can remember. Growing up surrounded by music in every nook and cranny of his childhood, he has grown into an extremely skilled songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist. Navarro spent many years playing in bands, touring in bands, and even releasing solo albums under the name Faceless Ones. All that changed when he met Creighton, the two had an artistic bond that was incomparable paired with their commitment to each other has led them to create music that works together to bring communities together since their formation in 2023.
Having released their debut singles “Operator” and “Straight to You” back in 2023 Cherokee Social is trailblazing the way they create. Cultivating a unique combination of blues guitar, pop-centric vocals, and indigenous-influenced percussion has harvested an ever-growing dedicated fanbase in the band's short time together.
Today’s single release seems to be a step into a new realm for the band. Coming off a couple of months of hiatus, there seem to be some new influences in the duo’s latest single. The song's opening transports the listener to a beach somewhere in the middle of summer, which is a refreshing change of pace from the cold, brisk winter No Regards is experiencing in Boone. With a catchy chorus and upbeat instrumentalism, the song poses to be Cherokee Social’s most innovative release yet. Its vocals feel very reminiscent of some of the tracks that were prevalent in the mid-2010s indie scene but in a way entirely of its own. Instrumentally, it takes this vocal style and pairs it with more modern instrumental styles with incredible guitar riffs and many different stand-out moments for the duo.
This single is one of many coming for the band as they’re currently working on their forthcoming debut album that is being produced/engineered alongside a producer who’s worked with the Black Pumas so they’re a band to keep an eye on!
